The record is gone! Sarah Baxter of Simi Valley wins D1 Girls in unofficial 16:40!! Hagen Reedy second in 17:10. Juila Stamos held old record at 16:43. Honestly, Sarah did not look like she was pressing at the finish. Wow! Julia Maxwell of Branson School wins big, 17:26 to 18:27, over teammate Anna Harleen as they place 102. Great Oak's 90:45 is #5 all-time w/ the top all by Saugus teams. St. Francis (92:42) beats SJS record by 3 seconds!
Men’s Division 2
Fernandez wins in 15:08 over Yarnall. Goins fourth. Saugus closed well on Westlake so could be close. Bryan Fernandez of Dos Pueblos.... what a great season... money all season long and in the big races all season long. What a season! Same as D1 boys, where three dueled down final straight. Looked like Saugus' Yarnall might reel in Fernandez, but Bryan didn't give an inch. Bryan Fernandez 15:09, AJ Yarnall 15:10, Forrest Riley 15:12, Austin Goins 15:17, Andrew Tellames 15:18, Jose Penaloza 15:19, Rich Ho 15:21 Westlake 84, Saugus 97, Redondo U 183, Dos Pueblos 188, Mt. Men’s Division 3
D3 Boys set. During warmups, Palos Verdes crew had a very poised demeanor about them. Eerily reminiscent of great PV teams of 80s and 90s. St John Bosco leading at 1.7 miles in D3 boys. Looks tight between SJB at PV at 2.1 miles. St. John Bosco looks to have handily wrapped up the team win after getting third at Southern Sections! Nice pop for the Braves!
